how we grade our bare root roses

Here at David Austin Roses, only the best bare root roses go out to our customers. Our process for ensuring this is simple yet fundamental to achieving - and delivering upon - the immensely high standards we set ourselves.

  • An English rose shrub or climbing rose will typically have a minimum of three stems and an English rambling rose will typically have a minimum of two stems.*
  • The quality of the root is checked, along with the plants overall framework and weight.

*There is a chance that stem numbers may vary, but rest assured only the best David Austin roses leave the farm, ready to thrive in their new home.
