This year we are delighted to announce the release of five new English rose varieties; Dannahue ™ (Ausa6b15), Penelope Lively ™ (Ausb18a15), Nye Bevan ™(Auspital), Elizabeth ™ (Ausmajesty), and Bring Me Sunshine (Ausernie).
DANNAHUE™ (Ausa6b15)
English shrub rose
An upright, bushy shrub that is happy in pots and containers and thrives against walls and fences. Dannahue is named after ‘The Black Gardener’; Danny Clark’s birth name. David Austin was hugely impressed with a garden Danny co-designed at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2022 with Tayshan Hayden-Smith, founder of not-for-profit Grow2Know.
PENELOPE LIVELY™ (Ausb18a15)English shrub rose
A classic and elegant mid-pink rose named after the British author whose writing spans novels and short stories enjoyed by all ages. Penelope Lively carries a medium-strong classic rose fragrance, the very embodiment of summertime.
NYE BEVAN™ (Auspital)English shrub rose
An uplifting rose bearing unusual open cupped flowers of soft yellow, paling to cream. This rose is named in honour of Aneurin (Nye) Bevan, founder of Britain’s National Health Service.
Elizabeth™ (Ausmajesty)English shrub rose
An exceptional rose of true majesty and grace with blossom-like blooms. Named in honour of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest serving monarch.
BRING ME SUNSHINE (Ausernie)English shrub rose
A gloriously yellow-orange toned rose, which will bring a friendly smile to your collection. Bring Me Sunshine is named after the uplifting musical hit ‘Bring Me Sunshine’ performed by Morecambe and Wise.
